Hellloooo beaming expectant parents! Wow. This shoot was everything. The joy that was so evident in this couple was inspirational. They came to us with an idea for a shoot that incorporated images that they could use to announce their pregnancy online, as well as some lovely photos of them as a couple. We jumped at the opportunity. Creative juices were flowing and the planning began.

Bok Tower was a gorgeous backdrop for this session, and we knew we wanted open flowing fields that gave a sun glow effect. We’re not afraid to go off the beaten path, in fact we find some of the best photo ops when we explore beyond the boundaries. These warm fields with overgrown grasses and pathways were just what we wanted. (Make sure you scroll to the end to see even more captures.)

We often receive questions in the preparation phase of a session about what to wear. This shoot is a perfect example of the great colors paired together. And can we just add that hats are everything?! This mom-to-be looked amazing in her wide brimmed hat and it made for a fun prop to play with during the shoot in different angles. The camera loves warm muted colors. Whats more is it actually compliments skin tone in the final photo edit. Dark navy, burnt orange, maroon, etc – these look good on almost anyone! And they are great for photos.

Congratulations to these two, Niyeliza and Felix! You’re going to make amazing parents and we can’t wait to watch your family grow.
