Jennifer and Mark's Love Story
We met on Match.com and we were each other's first date on the site. We met in person the first week we started chatting and had about 50 dates in 30 days. We couldn't get enough of one another and our relationship just kept growing stronger and stronger every time we met up. We got engaged exactly one year after our first date. But even though we have only been together for a shorter time than some, we always felt like we knew each other for years and years. We really did find our soulmate in one another and we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives on this adventure!
What is the one thing you love most about each other?
We love that we can be our entire selves with one another. He embraces my goofiness with his own and we have so much fun together.
What was your style inspiration for the overall aesthetic and feel of your wedding?
If I had to choose a kind of style we were going for it was probably like a rustic chic. Our colors were sage, blush, dusty, and navy blue, and we had hints of wood and copper throughout. And it contrasted so well with the loft-style of Red Mesa's ballroom.
What was your favorite part about your venue? In other words, what made you choose it?
We love historic buildings and Red Mesa just so happened to be one of St. Pete's first firehouses. When we first walked into the event space where we had our ceremony and reception, we absolutely loved the exposed brick, with the loft ceiling and all the windows and herringbone floors. And the size was perfect and intimate enough to where we didn't feel like it was just another big cookie-cutter ballroom. It was perfect.
“I remember looking at mark when we booked our final vendor and said, we have a fantastic team!” – Jennifer
What was your favorite (or least favorite) part about wedding planning?
Our favorite part about the planning was getting to meet and talk to so many wonderful people. We really did luck out on all our vendors and we had such good vibes and relationships with everyone. I remember looking at Mark when we booked our final vendor and said, we have a fantastic team! It was really meant to be!
As a follow-up to that: If you could pick one thing to do differently in your wedding planning, what would that be?
I would have booked our wedding planner for the FULL wedding process! We only booked Delaney from Wilder Mind Events for partial planning (she stepped in about 30 days out) but after building a relationship with her and seeing her process it would have been worth the extra money to get her for the full planning time. And that also means less stress on the bride and groom to keep up with booking everyone. We did learn a lot though that's for sure!
Any other comments? We'd love to hear!
I did want to say that I love that you guys do a mini engagement shoot with your wedding packages because I think it's important to build a relationship with your photographer. It made taking our wedding photos so easy because we felt like we were in the very capable hands of friends with Sam and Dan! Sam did our engagement photos so seeing a familiar face at the wedding was everything to ease some of the stress and jitters and even though that was our first time meeting Dan, he jumped right in with Sam and it was like we had always known each other. Such a great team you guys have!
