We met this gorgeous couple earlier this year during their engagement shoot on Honeymoon Island here in our home state of Florida. (See their engagement session HERE.)
Kayla + Ethan flew us to Rochester for their wedding and we immediately hit the ground running with Kayla crossing off her last minute to-dos in preparation for the wedding. It was so much fun and so meaningful for us both to be able to help in any way we could: running to the jewelers to get that diamond sparkling clean, stop off at Trader Joes for some final flower additions for centerpieces, gathering wedding favors, and a few more finishing touches for the bar set up. It’s more than just showing up and taking pictures for us – it’s about going all in and diving right into the wedding planning helping to alleviate any pressures our bride and groom have on their shoulders. It’s about what we can give back in any way we can as much as it is delivering wedding photo galleries.
The weather was perfect, the birds were singing, and the gardens were in full bloom on the land of Kayla’s grandparents home were the wedding took place. They chose to be married on the land her grandparent’s home was situated, giving a rich deep meaning to the day. Kayla told us that she spent many years playing in the yard while growing up and had such fond memories there. They couldn’t think of a better place to join their lives in marriage forever.
These photos speak for themselves. This wedding was incredible, the couple so in love, and their friends and family so full of joy and support. The way these newlyweds looked at one another showed just how deeply in love they are. (We too know what it’s like to be madly in love!) They finally had the wedding of their dreams on their family’s farmland. They finally were married and beginning the rest of their lives together in wedded bliss! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
There is one special detail that we want to highlight from this wedding day in New York state, however. The bride’s sister was given a chance to be photographed in her wedding gown that she had purchased several years prior but never got to wear due to the couple deciding to elope in a more intimate setting. The bride surprised her sister by having her gown delivered to the home and we snuck off to have a “mini session” with her to be adequately photographed in her gown she never had a chance to take photos in. This was an extremely moving part of the day for everyone there… such a display of sisterly love unlike anything we’d seen before. Kayla is one of the most genuine, sincere, selfless brides we’ve ever worked with. Happy tears were plentiful!
