“The MOST beautiful venue! I fell in love with it the first visit. Let’s not forget how beautiful of a ready room we both had, great for pictures! Honestly, so glad the Howey Mansion opened for weddings when we started looking. Our wedding photos look amazing.
Should we both get ready at The hyatt regency clearwater?
We would suggest this, yes! There are two separate spaces for you and your soon-to-be-spouse to get ready. Ample space for you and your bridal tribe to get ready for the big day, in a beautiful atmosphere. A plus for your photography team is that we can literally cover both rooms documenting some of the special pre-wedding moments and details that unfold.
Where do you recommend taking our family portraits?
We always suggest to take into consideration lighting over background for the best photographic results. That being said, depending on what time your wedding ceremony plans to end, the answer will vary. A safe bet would be inside in the front lobby on the grand staircase, where the lighting is controlled and there is ample space for large groupings.
What time should we schedule our wedding ceremony to begin?
A good rule of thumb is to begin your wedding ceremony approximately 2 hours before sunset. This way you can tie the knot and then begin the section of wedding photos such as family portraits, bridal party and last but not least - newlywed photos!
Do they allow for sparkler exits? Should we do one?
Yes, the Howey Mansion allows for sparkler exits! Or, an alternative is the new trend: cold sparklers! Exits or 'leaves' are always a great idea. Truly they are set up for the photo opportunity that it provides, but whats more is it's a beautiful bookend to the day for you and your guests!
How long should we plan to take Bride & Groom portraits?
This section of your photography timeline is arguably the most important. That being said, you will most likely need to plan to not attend cocktail hour. We know that's probably no the news you were hoping for, but trust us - it's worth the sacrifice! Plan for at a minimum of 25 - 30 minutes to get those most crucial sweetheart photos of just the two of you during the golden hour before sunset.
Can we stay overnight at The hyatt regency clearwater?
The venue offers a wedding collection that includes a 2-night stay on the property! There are 5 beautiful guest rooms within the estate as well as a guest cottage with 2 bedrooms on-site which is also available (depending on the wedding collection you book). This is a wonderful idea to say on property the night before to wake up refreshed for your wedding day, be in the moment, and ready to tie that knot!
