Opening directly into the foyer, the loggia on the patio has magnificent archways that frame one of your many ceremony spot location options. Your nuptials held right under the draping florals and chandelier that grace the patio above.
This particular feature of the estate is also ideal for your reception and dance-floor. Either tented or under the night sky, dance the evening away on the amazing historic exterior.
The Ship Room, floors, walls and ceiling are crafted from beautiful bent white oak, masterly done by a ships carpenter. The ceiling below shows the color of the room and the Spanish Rose pointer is connected to the Spanish Galleon wind vane on the top of the house. This is by far, one of the more popular spots for photography!
Gorgeous views, ample space and the best sunset that mother nature can provide. Overlooking the Saraosta Bay, the lawn boasts the best views for your friends and families of Florida's beautiful scenery.
This venue hit all the marks for us in every way. From the getting ready rooms to the loggia to the grand lawn, everything is just gorgeous. We knew it would be the perfect backdrop for our day. So glad we were able to host our friends and family at this place!
Should we both get ready at The Powel Crosley?
We would suggest this, yes! There are two separate spaces for you and your soon-to-be-spouse to get ready. Ample space for you and your group to get ready for the big day, all in a beautiful atmosphere. A plus for your photography team is that we can cover both rooms documenting some of the special pre-wedding moments that unfold.
Where do you recommend taking our family portraits?
We always suggest to take into consideration lighting for the best photographic results. That being said, depending on what time your ceremony plans to end, the answer will vary. A safe bet would be the arches that grace the front entrance. Not only does this area provide a gorgeous backdrop, the front of the estate is shaded for a good portion of the day.
What time should we schedule our ceremony to begin?
A good rule of thumb is to begin your ceremony approximately 2 hours before sunset. This way you can tie the knot and then begin the section of photos such as family portraits, bridal party and last but not least - newlywed photos! We can go over this during the planning process.
Do they allow for sparkler exits? Should we do one?
No, The Powel Crosley does not allows for sparkler exits. However, an alternative to this would be: cold sparklers, bubbles or streamers! Exits or 'leaves' are always a great idea. Truly they are set up for the photo opportunity that it provides, but whats more is it's a beautiful bookend to the day for you and your guests!
How long should we plan to take newlywed portraits?
This section of your photography timeline is arguably the most important. That being said, you will most likely need to plan to not attend cocktail hour. We know that's probably no the news you were hoping for, but trust us - it's worth the sacrifice! Plan for at a minimum of 25 - 30 minutes to get those most crucial sweetheart photos of just the two of you during the golden hour before sunset.
What is the capacity of outdoor space for a Powel Crosley Estate wedding?
The Bayside Lawn can host up to a 1,000-person reception. The pavilion seats 74 people for a ceremony and 50 for a seated dinner. Needless to say, whether you're planning a small intimate wedding or a large gathering, The Powel Crosley has something for everyone!
